Asking the Question
I committed my life to Jesus August 21, 1991. It was a day I will always remember as I sat in my youth leaders car, being dropped off in front of my apartment building after yet another youth group adventure. It happened as they intentionally carved out a few moments of time with just me to focus on my eternal future. The conversation was not earth shattering or profound, but it was a bit unconventional. I didn’t know so at the time (being new to the faith and all), but apparently when leading someone to Christ, your not supposed to ask them what they are doing and why?
Dropping Our Nets
In the past few weeks, I’ve been reminded time and again about the truths of scripture – particularly in Matthew 4:18-22. There have been many reasons why I was reflecting on scripture, even this one in particular, but was really trying to sense from God what He meant by reminding me. This passage is short, but basically outlines Jesus’ intentions:
A Deterioration of Quality
Today’s post is a guest post by my good friend and co-host of The Songwriter’s Cafe, Joe Brookhouse. I appreciate Joe’s candid – yet sincere approaches to songwriting, Christianity and basically life in general. This was a blog he wrote June 25, 2010 and I believe it’s worth sharing with you here.
A few months ago, while flying to Dallas as part of my day job, I found myself sitting next to a fellow believer. We spoke at length about our faith and our respective congregations. For the majority of the flight, however, we
All About Worship Collective, Vol. 2
This post is a free resource opportunity!
I’m pleased to share with you another free collective of exceptional songs provided by AllAboutWorship.com with the sole purpose of sharing with the church, encouraging you and introducing you to artists you may not have heard of. It’s the All About Worship Collective, Volume 2.
As many of you know, I’m involved in the leadership of AllAboutWorship.com and TheSongwritersCafe.com and we are always looking for ways to engage with you. Furthermore, we look at this opportunity as a way to connect you to other artists. This helps the artists share their music – yes – but also for you to obtain quality music at no cost and expand your horizons!
A Mother’s Perspective on Grief
Today’s post is another guest post from my wife Kerri. I feel this post is particularly powerful because it not only reveals a mothers heart, but paints a picture of life (and death) and how dealing with human emotion has its difficulties, but with God’s perspective and a spiritual lens – in time, God will work all things for our good as hard as it is to see it that way going through it.
The letter is written to our third child Micah Daniel who passed away in 2001. Written not to hold onto the past, but to look to the future.
